Unlike so many of our lighter roses, Stolpman's Para Maria has the distinction of being a bit more serious like a Bandol due to its high degree of Mourvedre (40%) blended with the more aromatic aspects of Grenache. The Santa Barbara County fruit is sourced from four vineyards and pressed immediately for a cold native-yeast fermentation to preserve the stony, dry profile of dark berries, pink citrus, savory herbs, and a touch of eucalyptus. We like this with heavier fare such as grilled meat, oily fish, eggplant & tomato preparations, and beans.
