Domaine de Fenouillet has been producing wine in the village of Beaumes-de-Venise (one of the classified Rhône villages) for 100 years, and brothers Patrick and Vincent Soard have expanded production to include southerly parts of the region. This Ventoux is Fenouillet's versatile, honest, soulful Grenache blend from Beaumes-de-Venise and surrounding villages, but think of it as a bargain-priced Côtes-du-Rhône loaded with cherries, garrigue, lavender, and fine tannins. A great wine to bring to a picnic, cookout, or take-out lunch on the patio.
