From the volcanic Matra region of northern central Hungary, this Pinot Noir is produced in Gyöngyöstarján, about 50 miles northeast of Budapest. Peter Benedek makes wine without any industrial chemicals, letting the terroir and fruit sing in this light-bodied, unoaked Pinot with a very aromatic nose and a mouthful of delicate cherry, cranberry, red currants, and minerals. Serve cool with fish, creamy cheeses, and white meat.
