Nestled on the border between Roussillon and western Languedoc, Château Guilhem was built in 1791 and acquired by the Guilhem family in 1878. Bertrand Guilhem is the fifth-generation winemaker to oversee his 85 acres of vineyard planted with a combination of varietals from Rhone and Bordeaux. Pot de Vin is no ordinary Merlot at this moderate price. It is seductive with dark plummy fruit, complex earthiness, medium-bodied character, and un-oaked freshness that pairs well with just about anything from pizza to burgers and vegetarian dishes to BBQ.
