La Cuadrilla is a shout-out to a group of the hardest-working people in winemaking, migrant workers - especially women -- by the way, there's always a female figure on the the label. This delicious blend of 60% Syrah, 30% Grenache, 5% each Sangiovese & Mourvedre is not just an empty gesture. Vineyard manager Ruben Solorzano got the go-ahead to employ workers year-round, gave them Cuadras (small vineyard blocks), permanent housing, and trained them in winemaking. This employee-owned project ensures stability and income but also pride. You can taste it in the dark, plummy, minerally, minty, mocha-tinged cuvee.
