The Mauritsons have been growing grapes in Dry Creek Valley since the beginning, 1868 to be exact. In the 1990s, the youngest generation decided to take an exciting turn. Upon returning from College, Clay Mauritson made wine from the fruit they once sold to others. Now, the family manages 310 acres of prime vineyards across Dry Creek Valley, Alexander Valley, and Rockpile AVAs. The 2022 is the product of hand-picked fruit from old vineyards in northern Dry Creek Valley and younger vineyards in the south, which was whole-cluster pressed, 50% foudre-fermented, and aged primarily in steel without any malo. Notes of pineapple, blossoms, stones, lime, mango, and candied peach. Fresh and bright on the finish.
