Lockhart will reestablish California Merlot as the next no-brainer go-to red wine. With steel fermentation and six months in old French oak, this Merlot has all the structure and flavor without being overwhelmed by sweet oak and jammy fruit. Lockhart has balanced acidity with plummy dark fruit on the nose and palate, and notes of cocoa and vanilla on the finish.
