Jenny & Francois are the natural wine importers for this lovely rosé by winemaker Christina Netzl, whose family has been in Göttlesbrunn (Carnuntum, Austria) since 1650. Their farm started with grains, corn, pigs, and sugar beets but later focused on vines, expanding the holdings to nearly 70 acres of organic fields. And the label is an homage to a tradition of supporting beneficial bugs that contribute to wines like this delicious 100% Zweigelt, which is dry, low-sulfite, unfined/unfiltered with notes of berry patch, ripe melon, and herbs. Christina pairs it with homemade smoked trout, but it also goes well with cold cuts, watermelon salad, and salted fish.
