Burgundian in style, "L'Ancien" is composed of Jean-Paul Brun's oldest plots in the southern Beaujolais village of Charnay, where 40-60-year-old vines are planted on slopes of limestone and local iron-rich "dorée" (golden limestone). The fruit for Terres Dorées is organic, hand-harvested, destemmed, vinified with indigenous yeasts, and fermented/aged in concrete vats. This dense, dark, complex Nouveau should age very nicely.
