Located on parcels in the eastern end of Loire's Touraine region, Cheverny is an exciting AC where blends abound. Tessier is a master at growing and blending seven varietals across 55 acres and three appellations. Le Point du Jour is a Cheverny Rouge blend of whole-cluster, old-vine, hand-harvested 80% Pinot Noir and 20% Gamay macerated for two weeks and aged for just several months in a variety of barrels. You get a Burgundy-like summer red with fresh bramble berries, currants, spice, and strawberry patch. Pair with skirt steak, Asian and Latin fare, or drink alone. A light chill doesn't hurt.
