Everyone thought Torrontes would be Argentina's next break-out grape, but it never happened. Wild Vine is bringing it back into the spotlight for a second try. With Muscat as one of its parent grapes, Torrontes has a lovely, seductive, aromatic profile of tropical fruit, flowers, and green citrus over lip-smacking acidity gained from high-altitude vineyards (5040 feet above sea level) in the northern Salta zone of Argentina. The Cassone ancestors are originally from Piedmont, Italy, but their new home since the late 19th century is Mendoza's Lujan de Cuyo, where they make olive oil and fine wine.
