Not to be confused with Rully (roo-yee) in Burgundy, Reuilly (roo-oo-yee) is located at the eastern end of the Loire, just a stone's throw from Quincy. This 370-acre AOC is unique among neighboring villages because it produces Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, and some excellent Pinot Noir. If you're aware of increasing Burgundy prices, a Reuilly is much less expensive than a comparable Rully. According to Legendary importer Kermit Lynch, this organic/Biodynamic Reuilly is gracing tables at Parisian bistros for that reason. Furthermore, Denis Jamain makes his wine easy to pair with almost anything. The profile of red berries, minerals, preserved orange, herbs, and floral notes can accompany turkey, charcuterie, steak frites, cheeses, and vegetarian mushroom dishes. Please give it a chill.
