This is one of the shop's most exciting new Portuguese brancos (whites). However, Quinta Da Costa Do Pinhao is not your average white wine. With skin contact throughout fermentation, the organic indigenous blend (Rabigato, Gouveio, and Viosinho) grown up-river from the city of Porto takes on an Orange wine personality but with a seductively deep gold color and loads of complexity. Costa do Pinhao is aged for one year in 500-liter neutral barrels, where it develops notes of citrus zest, dried flowers, ripe stone fruit, a touch of pine resin, and plenty of acidity—all at 12% ABV. Pair with all Mediterranean cuisine: think grilled seafood slathered in olive oil & herbs. Don't serve too cold.
