In the late 1990s, Nick and Andy Peay and Nick's wife, Vanessa Wong, were looking for an undiscovered wine-making spot. They finally settled in a remote part of the newer AVA known as Sonoma Coast, an hour north of San Francisco near Sea Ranch and Annapolis. Almost all their wine is produced with fruit grown on the 53-acre hilltop vineyard overlooking the cool and foggy Pacific Ocean four miles away.
Sonoma Coast Chardonnay is a beautiful expression of this northwestern coastal AVA. Made entirely of estate-grown fruit, this elegant Chard perfectly integrates lemon zest, oranges, fresh bread, and almonds on a steely finish. There is no flab but decent weight and texture. Age for ten years. We also carry their Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir, and the second label Cep Pinot Noir, and Cep Syrah.
