For lack of a better term, Reserve is used for the entry-level bottling because it is a blend of 18 prime vineyards across Willamette Valley, such as McMinnville, Mt Pisgah, Dundee Hills, Tualatin Hills, Chehalem Mountain, and Ribbon Ridge AVAs. Expensive vineyards notwithstanding, Reserve has always been a great deal as far as Willamette Pinot Noir is concerned. 2021 was an odd year with extremely high heat, but this wine is deftly balanced with moderate alcohol of 13.5%. Extra stuffing and judicious oak treatment create a smooth satisfying Pinot featuring rounded cherry fruit with notes of baking spices, flowers, earth notes, and plenty of raspberry acidity on the finish.
