Lustig means fun or happy in German, and Lustig perfectly encapsulates this liter of Austrian Grüner Veltliner. Produced by Josef and Pia Wurzinger in Burgenland near the Hungarian border, Lustig's herbicide-free fruit soaks up the sun while being cooled by breezes from the Neusiedler Lake. With its chalk, clay, gravel, and sand soil, this microclimate yields a crisp quaffable wine with plenty of green fruit, minerals, lemon, and herbs. Serve with salads, fish dressed with dill sauces, poached chicken, summer fare, and cheeses.
