Lopez de Heredia has been making wine for over one hundred twenty-five years. As staunch traditionalists, the family refuses to change the style of their wines to appeal to trends, so everything from the bottle design, winemaking philosophy, and wine links to tradition. All the work is done by hand on the estate, including crafting barrels. Lopez Heredia also cellars its wine longer - sometimes decades longer. This blend of 75% Tempranillo, 15% Garnacha, 5% Graciano, and 5% Mazuelo (Carignan) is aged for six years in a barrel and a few more in the bottle. Lightly fined but left unfiltered. Medium-bodied, dry. Red fruit, red flowers, and herbs on the nose with a palate of ripe bramble berries. The finish is accented by sour cherry, herbs, vanilla, and fine-grained tannins. Drink now through 2030.
