Located in the northern Navarran sub-region of Tierra de Estella, Lezaun is an old family estate dating back to 1780. At just 47 acres of organic vineyards, this is a relatively small property to be producing such value-driven wine, but Raúl & Edorta Lezaun would rather make limited batches of great wine than create a surplus destined for co-ops. This vintage is made from a blend of hand-picked Tempranillo & Garnacha fermented in stainless steel with Indigenous yeasts. In keeping with the low-intervention credo, this young Tinto is unfiltered but lightly fined and bottled with minimal SO2. Expect a dry, rustic, spicy, fuller-bodied red with plush red fruit and formidable complexity on the finish. Pair with burgers, grilled skirt steak, bean casserole, and veggie pizza. Vegan.
