Las Jaras is a California-centric partnership between winemaker Joel Burt & comedian Eric Wareheim - probably best known for the TV series Master of None. Instead of shooting for cult status, Joel and Eric went the natural route to make really delicious, chemical-free vino for the masses. Named after the French term for easy-chugging vin de soif, Glou Glou is a blend of organic 50% Zinfandel, 19% Carignan, 15% Petite Sirah, 6% Mourvèdre, 4% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 6% Chardonnay from Mendocino, Sonoma, and San Benito Counties. The fruit is steel-vinified using various methods (carbonic and traditional) and then quickly aged in tanks and barrels. True to its name, Glou Glou is refreshing yet structured with notes of raspberry, roasted coffee, star anise, white pepper, and plums. Serve chilled with burgers and pizza, pasta, and kebabs.
