In this case, "Lite" refers to both density and price compared to Tensley's premier Syrah. It's still a substantial Syrah but with a northern Rhone flair, meaning the fruit doesn't overshadow the wine's complexities and natural flavors. Lite is fermented with ambient yeast, aged for six months in neutral barrels, and bottled unfined and unfiltered. Notes of violets, spice, plum, black olives, and eucalyptus pair well with ribs, game, any grilled sausage, Mexican stewed beef, or pasta with wild mushrooms and well-aged Parmigiano Reggiano.
