For a Champagne house traces its roots back to 1746, Gaston Chiquet is not very famous, but that happens when the annual production is a mere 14,000 cases. The 8th-generation winemaker Nicolas Chiquet has less than 60 acres under-vine across Ay, Dizy, Hautvillers, and Mareuil-sur-Ay in Valle de la Marne. Tradition Brut is a village blend of 1er Cru and Grand Cru plots of Meunier, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir processed in the steel and aged on the lees for at least four years. Brilliant bubbly with notes of peach, citrus zest, blossoms, salted almonds, and herbs.
