Frank Cornelissen relies solely on grapes, wild yeast, and nature to do all the winemaking, so he uses no additives, chemicals, filtration, or oak. The resulting wines reflect the vibrancy and dynamic forces of nature that spring up directly from the lava-rich soils of Sicily. This IGT Terre Siciliane Rosato is a blend of Malvasia, Moscadella, Insolia and Nerello Mascalese. All the fruit is hand-harvested from 12 hectares of high-altitude vineyards on the slopes of Mount Etna, fermented in tubs, and then aged in neutral containers. If you're looking for purity and terroir, this is it. Medium-bodied and fruity with a dry finish, Susucaru resembles a light red wine but is totally refreshing with notes of cherry, flowers, spice, and lots of volcanic acidity.
