Domaine de L'Arlot was one of our favorite under-the-radar secrets, but not anymore. Since Geraldine Godot took over in 2015, her limited certified Biodynamic offerings of Nuits St. Georges are even harder to access because of international allocations and increased pricing, which still makes this Hautes Cotes de Nuits Blanc a fantastic value. A fleshy Chardonnay from younger vines in the northern end of Burgundy, Le Mont is beautifully balanced with a velvety texture and notes of stone fruit, flower blossoms, limestone, and light vanilla from newer wood (12%). This complex Blanc shows tropical fruit and acid upon opening, followed by hazelnut and honey after some aeration; so we recommend decanting and serving at cellar temperature with fish, chicken, veal, pork, and butter-laced starches.
