Tempier is the standard-bearer for Bandol, and they produce white, rosé, and several red wines composed from single vineyards: La Migoua, La Tourtine, and Cabassaou. As the new name for the Classic entry-level rouge, Cuvée Lulu et Lucien is the usual blend of vineyards and younger vines (35-40 years), which supply 75% Mourvedre augmented primarily with Grenache and Cinsault and smaller measures of Carignan and Syrah. The wine is fermented with native yeast and aged in barrels for 18 months, yielding a deep, dark, full-bodied wine with notes of dense fruit, garrigue, tobacco, leather, wood, and structured tannins. This wine will be ready by 2027 and age-worthy for many years, but it makes an excellent gift for yourself or others. We also carry Tempier rosé.
