2020 was another great year in Bordeaux with nice ripe Saint-Emilion like Haut-Segottes by 4th-generation winemaker Madame Danielle Meunier and her assistant Florent Caldier. The 22-acre estate has been in operation for 160 years, and there are no plans to stray from the simple formula of organic practices and 100% estate fruit. This vintage of Haut-Segottes is nearly equal parts Merlot & Cab Franc, aged 12-18 months in barriques (25-30% new) for earthy, dark, powerfully complex black & blue fruit with firm tannins. Age for 5-15 years or decant for an hour before enjoying it now with steak and roast.
