To fall in love with Monje, you only have to look at its gorgeous pink, peach, and tangerine hues. Not totally blush nor orange wine, Anish Patel labels it as Amber wine made of organic co-fermented Mendocino County Colombard (53%), Gewürztraminer (32%), Zinfandel (10%), and Albariño. Skin contact in stainless steel lasts seven days with native yeasts before aging in a mix of oak and steel for four months. Monje is a dry, vegan, low-sulfur, low-carb wine bottled unfined and unfiltered at a final 10.5% abv. Lip-smackingly scrumptious with nectarine, mandarin orange, and some brine makes it a perfect match with shellfish, Indian cuisine, veggie tempura, and white pizza.
