Most stores have the required Beaujolais selection with a Beaujolais Villages and maybe a few Cru wines. We usually have a dozen at a time. We're dedicated to Gamay because the varietal is so incredibly seductive. If you don't believe you can be seduced, try Fleurie, the "Queen of Beaujolais Crus". Taken from the 35-year-old 11-acre vineyard of Poncie, Pierre-Marie Chermette does a semi-carbonic maceration, ferments in concrete, and ages in foudre for a wine that's drinking now through the end of this decade. Poncie is a gorgeously voluptuous wine full of fresh-cut flowers, berry compote, potpourri, dried citrus peels, spice, minerals, and bright acids against fine tannins. It pairs easily with just about anything.
