Barrel X has been a house favorite for several years, and it seems to improve with each passing vintage. It's a blend of vineyards and villages from Ayl, Saarburg, Wawern, and Wiltingen - each contributing different aspects of spice, sweetness, acid, and minerality for an off-dry, wild-yeast, Saar Riesling of outstanding zip, citrus cut, stones, light petrol, and just a light dusting of sugar. 10.5% ABV makes this an easy pairing with fish, sausage, cheese, and chicken or on its own. We polished this off in minutes, so get more than one bottle.
