The people behind the label are John “Juan” House of Ovum Wines and Kerin “Kiki” Auth Bembry, who met on a bus in Spain back in 2011. The partnership started out as a way to express the terroir of Utiel-Requena (Valencia) with easy-drinking liters of red and white wine, but an orange, more complex, co-fermented blend of organic 90% Macabeo/10% Sauvignon Blanc was the next logical step. Twenty-four days of skin contact bring out the beautiful apricot color and fuller-bodied flavor of tangerines, dried apricots, nectarines, salt-water taffy, and pink grapefruit on a foundation of tannin and bright acidity. Pair with any summer food or serve as a pre-lunch thirst-quencher.
