Alain Pascal owns and operates this 34-acre winery named after his father, Honore. They once sold most of the fruit and kept a little for personal wine, but after Honore’s passing in 1997, Alain established the domaine and shared his creations with Bandol fans worldwide. Though it’s not as famous as other estates, Domaine du Gros ‘Noré is on par with the finest producers. The 2017 Rouge is a big, bold wine of dense Mourvèdre (80%) with firm tannins, leather and meat notes, dark blue fruit, and herbs while maintaining elegance, grace, and depth. Pair with roasted meats, root veggies, gravies, and Yorkshire pudding.
