Made by Brice Omont from incredibly steep terraced slopes (like 1500 feet) with clear views of Mont Blanc, Argile is an alpine wine composed primarily of Jacquère and Chardonnay and a smaller proportion of Mondeuse Blanche. The fruit is fermented/aged in neutral containers to feature pure notes of lemon, mountain herbs, minerals, and a round, refined texture from old-vine Chardonnay. Unlike the simpler wines of Savoie, Argile Blanc shows its best when decanted, aerated, and served at cellar temperature. Pair with cheese plates, gratins, raclette, and fondue.
