Corbieres is well known for its bold Carignan-based red wines, but it's also a source of white and rosé blends. Bruno Laboucarié of Domaine de Fontsainte is a skilled winemaker who can coax the best out of all his varietals. He was among the first to use thermo-regulated stainless steel tanks, cement vats, and gravity feeding. Still, it's all about the flavor for Bruno. Gris de Gris is a saignée (bled directly from the vat) terroir-rich blend of 90% Grenache Gris plus 5% each Mourvèdre and Carignan, resulting in a crisp, pale, medium-bodied year-round rosé with red berries, melon, herbs, and blood orange. Pair with duck, olives, kabobs, and meaty grilled fish.
