Method Spirits Vermouth is the brainchild of Cory Fitzsimmons, a former head bartender at Union Square Cafe. When he realized New York State produced everything but fine vermouth, Cory teamed up with sommeliers and bartenders to fill that gap in our local cider, beer, spirits, and wine repertoire. Like the great vermouths of Turin and Chambery, Method requires a meticulous process of combining wine and brandy (both from the Finger Lakes) with 29 herbs, spices, and other botanicals until the flavors are perfectly balanced. Look for flavors of wormwood, orris root, orange zest, chamomile, tarragon, menthol, hyssop, fennel seed, clove, nutmeg, cocoa, and Madagascar vanilla. We love this on the rocks, with a bit of sparkling water, or mixed into cocktails.
