The Cornu family has been in the wine business since 1800; Pierre's great-great-grandfather established the domaine in 1870. At the ripe age of 27, Pierre took over the 38 acre farm from his father Edmond in 1990 and has been a standard bearer for superb Côte de Beaune Pinot ever since. In addition to several cuvees of Ladoix, he also crafts Chorey-lès-Beaune, Savigny-lès-Beaune, Aloxe-Corton, Corton-Bressandes, plus a little bit of Aligote and Chardonnay. Try Cornu's hand-harvested, unfined, rarely filtered, intelligently oaked wines whenever you get a chance.
