This is real Beaujolais that posed as a Nouveau last year. Yes, it's ready by the third week of November, but Domaine Chermette makes Origine the same way they do their high-end Cru wines. Using old-vine estate Gamay from 20 acres in Saint Verand, Origine is vinified without any lab yeasts or added sugars. At 13% ABV, it's dense and grapey with notes of kirsch, cola, and roasted pears. And with enough tannin and acidity, Origine will not disintegrate like the mass-produced Nouveau but improve by next Thanksgiving. Get a case while it lasts!
